Nancy Baca
Nancy Baca is a former journalist who now runs a small business. She spent nearly two decades as a journalist, working as a reporter and an editor for the Albuquerque Journal, the Albuquerque Tribune and the Arizona Republic in Phoenix. While working as a journalist she served as president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and president of Unity Journalists of Color, both trade organizations.
Nancy is a fifth generation New Mexican who grew up in Albuquerque. She is a graduate of Highland High School and the University of New Mexico.
She left journalism in 2005 and now owns a property management business overseeing her residential investment properties. Nancy and her husband, Ted Jurney, also operate Just Organics, an apple orchard and green chile farm in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She is a member of the Museum of Albuquerque Foundation board and a volunteer at Animal Humane New Mexico.
