Mary Therese McCoy

At an early age, Mary learned the value of civic engagement from her father who was an active member of his union. Mary carried these values with her as she was the first in her family to attend college.

She received a BA from Wellesley College and an MA from Georgetown University. After working on the east coast, Mary returned to New Mexico to give back to a state that had given her such a rich childhood. She decided to work in public service to better the welfare of her fellow New Mexicans.

Currently, as the Chief Financial Officer for the NM Livestock Board, Mary manages an $8 million budget which serves the $2.4 billion livestock industry in NM. Mary recently returned from living in Mexico City where she was a Fulbright Fellow. While living abroad, Mary maintained her political activism as the Co-Chair of the Young Democrats Abroad.
