Marie 'Sisi' Miranda

Marie 'Sisi' Miranda, a native New Mexican, longtime Bernalillo County resident and third generation Law Enforcement Professional, is a veteran ranking officer of the Albuquerque Police Department.  She served in some of the Department's toughest assignments. Commander Miranda held a cross-commission as a Bernalillo County Sheriff's Deputy for over 20 years.

Commander Miranda is married to NM State Police Officer Audi Ritchie Miranda and is the mother of five teenagers. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from New Mexico State University in Foreign Languages and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management.

Commander Miranda's awards and recognition are many, a few of the most notable being her induction into the New Mexico Woman's Hall of Fame in 2002, and in 2003, she was named Honorary Battalion Chief by the Albuquerque Fire Department for her dedication and support of firefighters.

She retired in 2008 after being promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief II and serving 23 years on the job.

Commander Miranda finished a strong second in a seven-way primary.  Congratulations!
