Dorene Kuffer

As Deputy Director for New Mexico Legal Aid, Dorene is responsible for the operations of the largest statewide Legal Services program in New Mexico. In 2009 she was appointed to the New Mexico Commission on Access to Justice and sits on the Rules and Systems Planning committees.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, she has been a licensed attorney since 1985 and, most recently, was the Chief of the Juvenile Justice Division of the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender. Dorene is a graduate of the University of Illinois - College of Law and possesses an L.L.M. in Child and Family Law from Loyola University-Chicago. Dorene has also worked as an adjunct professor at Loyola University-Chicago School of Law where she taught Family Law, Juvenile Delinquency and Trial Advocacy.
