  • Alicia grew up in Albuquerque, graduating from The Albuquerque Academy and then earned a Bachelors Degree from Scripps College in Claremont, California.

  • My story began in Albuquerque’s South Valley.  I am the youngest of four children, born into a tight-knit Latino family.  I attended public school in Albuquerque, eventually graduating from West Mesa High School.

  • Amelia Nelson is a practicing attorney and law lecturer at the Anderson School of Management, UNM. She received her law degree from Drake University School of Law in Des Moines, Iowa in 2002.

  • Anna Nelson, LISW, is the Executive Director of the New Mexico Forum for Youth in Community, a statewide network intermediary that promotes equal access and meaningful engagement for all youth to thrive through positive youth development, civic participation, community capacity and network building, mobilization, and policy transformation.

  • I was born in Pompton Plains, NJ in 1968, the daughter of patriotic parents who taught me the value of public service, community involvement, and who never let me forget that I could become whatever I dreamed of being and achieve any goal I established for myself.

  • Cynthia Chavers is a Licensed Master of Social Work.  She has worked for the State of New Mexico for 13 years, and has been a supervisor for ten of those years.

  • I was born on the island of Jamaica in the Caribbean where I lived until young adulthood when I left to get married to a former university classmate from another island.

  • Ganesha began her collegiate journey with an exciting and challenging student exchange program in Fukuoka, Japan with the Seinan Gakuin University, where she studied the Japanese language, literature, history, art and business.  Following her year of studying abroad, she continued furthering her education at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

  • Guadalupe Esperanza Cano is a native of Silver City, New Mexico. The granddaughter of a local Union leader, and the daughter of two local activists, she learned at a young age to be a voice for the people.

  • Katy Duhigg, a native New Mexican, is an attorney whose work focuses on consumer protection.  Katy is the State Vice-Chair of Common Cause New Mexico, a Precinct Chair in Bernalillo County, and a member of the Nob Hill Business Improvement District Steering Committee.

  • I live on Isleta Pueblo with my husband of 17 years.  I am a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and neighbor.  I grew up in Los Angeles, California, and spent every summer visiting my family in the Barelas neighborhood of Albuquerque, moving to New Mexico permanently in 1976.

  • In 1983, Nicolette (Nikki) Dennis moved with her Albuquerque-raised husband, Glen Dennis to New Mexico. The couple settled in the Nob Hill neighborhood, where they raised their children and sent them to their neighborhood schools.

  • Stephanie Maez-Gibson has an extensive background in public policy, government relations, and strategic communications. Stephanie gained experience working in Governor Richardson’s Department of Political and Legislative Affairs where she analyzed legislation, media and film related proposals, capital outlay requests, and constituents’ public policy concerns.
