  • Anjali is a family physician at Casa de Salud, an innovative, walk-in, fair-priced integrative clinic with western medicine clinicians and eastern/alternative medicine healers. She also works in the emergency room of a rural Indian Health Service hospital in New Mexico.

  • Clara is a prosecutor in the 2nd Judicial District Attorney's Office, currently working within the Crimes Against Children Division. She is a past recipient of the 2009 Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award from the State Bar of New Mexico.

  • Board of Bar Commissioners

    Early in Deborah's career as a physical therapist, she developed a passion for home and community-based services and patient autonomy in decision-making. This prompted her to increasingly focus her work in healthcare administration, to attend law school to further her interests in health policy and advocacy and to eventually accept an appointment as Cabinet Secretary for the Department of Aging.

  • As Deputy Director for New Mexico Legal Aid, Dorene is responsible for the operations of the largest statewide Legal Services program in New Mexico. In 2009 she was appointed to the New Mexico Commission on Access to Justice and sits on the Rules and Systems Planning committees.

  • As a native New Mexican and member of the Pueblo of Acoma, Georgene Louis has chosen to keep her roots in her home state.  As the State Gaming Representative, her primary duty is to monitor compliance of the 2001 and 2007 Amended Tribal-State Class III Gaming Compacts entered into by 14 Indian tribes and the State of New Mexico.

    Beatrice Brickhouse began her public service career as an officer in the United States Army.  On January 2, 2009, Judge Brickhouse was appointed to the Second Judicial District Court, Civil Division, in Bernalillo County.  She was re-elected in 2010.

    Willow Misty Parks is a true Emerge success story.  She was elected Probate Judge in Bernalillo County in 2010.

  • Kelly Stout is a native of Albuquerque with a focus on bettering the lives of children in New Mexico. As a young attorney, she has focused her practice on representing victims of child abuse and sexual assault in addition to other types of individual injuries.

  • A majority of Leslie's work is with at-risk adolescents and families as well as DWI offenders and people struggling with substance abuse. Passionate about social issues that impact all people, Leslie is especially attentive to underserved populations.

    Linda Trujillo was elected to the Santa Fe School Board in 2011, and was a member of the Emerge Class of 2010.  She is our very first Alumna to serve on a School Board.

  • Marie 'Sisi' Miranda, a native New Mexican, longtime Bernalillo County resident and third generation Law Enforcement Professional, has served in some of the Albuquerque Police Department's toughest assignments.

  • At an early age, Mary learned the value of civic engagement from her father who was an active member of his union. Mary carried these values with her as she was the first in her family to attend college, and now as Chief Financial Officer for the NM Livestock Board.

  • Melissa Coleman, the parent of two children at Atalaya Elementary school, and a local business owner, ran for Santa Fe School Board in 2011.

  • Nancy Baca is a former journalist who now runs a small business. She spent nearly two decades as a journalist, and served as president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and president of Unity Journalists of Color.

  • Shammara Henderson is a native New Mexican, growing up in Albuquerque. She graduated from Valley High School in 2000. Currently, Shammara is an attorney in the Office of Governor Bill Richardson.

  • Trina is a third generation New Mexican, and an educator. She has dedicated the majority of her career to working with students with special needs at both the elementary and high school levels. The last four years of her work in the classroom was as a Kindergarten teacher. Today she works for Special Education Services for the Santa Fe Public Schools.
