Reena Szczepanski
Reena Szczepanski is the Executive Director of Emerge New Mexico. She loved every minute of the ENM Class of 2008, and jumped at the chance to work for the organization that gave her so much. Reena has a deep commitment to ending injustice in all forms, and ensuring that historically disenfranchised populations have a strong voice in the political process. Previously, she was Director of Drug Policy Alliance New Mexico, where she led the office to numerous state legislative victories including legal access to medical marijuana, a statewide ban on racial profiling, the first-in-the-nation 911 Good Samaritan Act, and second-in-the nation "Ban the Box."
Reena has also worked in NM state government and was a proud AmeriCorps volunteer. Reena graduated from Brown University, and was raised in Atlanta by her wonderful parents who immigrated from India. She lives in Santa Fe with her beloved husband and baby son. She is thrilled to spend her time working to inspire and train Democratic women and see them get elected.
