Judge Christine Argyres

Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court

Governor Bill Richardson announced the appointment of Christina P. Argyres, of Albuquerque, to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, Division IX, on June 24, 2010.

“Christina Argyres is accustomed to a large and hectic case load and I am confident her legal experience and knowledge will make her an excellent judge at one of New Mexico’s busiest courts,” said Governor Bill Richardson.

Ms. Argyres has been a sole practitioner since 2002 and a contract attorney with the State of New Mexico since November 2009.  Previously she worked as an Assistant Public Defender at Metropolitan Court with the State Public Defender’s Office.  She also worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office from 1998 to 2000 on the largest Medicaid fraud case in New Mexico.

Ms. Argyres holds a Bachelors degree from the University of New Mexico, a Masters degree from Harvard University and a Law degree from Ohio Northern School of Law. She is very active in her community and is a member of a number of civic organizations including Emerge New Mexico, New Mexico Bar Committee on Women and Legal Profession and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to name a few.  She also volunteers her time at the KOB-TV Law Line and in the Volunteer Attorney Pool at the 2nd Judicial District Court in Albuquerque.

Ms. Christina Argyres replaced Judge Anna G. Martinez who retired effective July 1, 2010.
